Allen Joe Bridges, age 79, of Austin, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. He was born March 28, 1930 in Cabot to the late Calvin Perry Bridges & Wilma Agnes Davis Bridges.

He is also preceded in death by two sons Larry & Russell Bridges and one brother James Bridges.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Minnie Ruth Carnahan Bridges; six children: Ricky & Becky Bridges of Jacksonville, Nancy & Mike Wrobleski of North Little Rock, Kevin & Alice Bridges, Karen & Mike McNulty, Teresa & Terry Tanner and Danny & Nancy Bridges of Cabot; six sisters Euna Emmerling of Cabot, Faye Fleming of Sherwood, Emma Welch of England, Lavern Underwood of Cabot, Loretta Taylor of Louisiana and Paulette Cochran of Sherwood; four brothers Leon Bridges of Arizona, Willis Bridges of Cabot, Hubert Bridges of England and Billy Bridges of Cabot; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with interment immediately following at Sumner Cemetery.
