Amy Lynn Thigpen, age 37, of Cabot, closed her beautiful blue eyes while at her earthly home and opened them in her Heavenly home on January 9, 2010. Her husband Jeffery, her mother Brenda, her Nanny Jessie, her Aunt Deanna and her children were at her bedside.
She was born May 2, 1972 in Fayetteville, the daughter of Brenda Cameron Garriott.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Nell Clayton Cameron and her grandfather William Andrew Garriott.
Amy graduated from Griffithville High School near Searcy. Amy believed in working hard. She worked side by side with her husband Jeffery in their chimney sweep business. She was his cheerleader for his job at MEMS. They lived their short time together as partners in everything. Amy attended Liberty Baptist Church in Cabot. She loved fishing and spending time with her children, family and friends. Amy was a determined person and believed she could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She loved to laugh and enjoy life.
Amy is survived by her best friend, the love of her life, her husband Jeffery Allen Thigpen of the home; mother Brenda K. Wood of McRae; children: Joshua Thigpen of Galveston, Texas, Ryan Middleton & Fallon Middleton of Bee Branch and Kristen Thigpen of Cabot; grandmother Jessie Garriott of Fayetteville; grandfather Verlon Cameron of McRae; father-in-law Franklin Thigpen of Forrest City; two sisters, Wanda (Billy) Collins of Farmington and Susan Bishop of Indiana; two nieces, Alisha Collins and Alex Bunker of Farmington; nephew Jeffery Jewett of McRae and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank Liberty Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services employees, June Branch from Hospice, Elmer Robertson & Twila Kaseberg for all the prayers, food, kindness and caring that was shared with them during this difficult time. You are all proof there are angels among us and your kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church in Cabot. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church with Michael Collier officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Amy Thigpen account at First Arkansas Bank & Trust in Cabot.
