Billy Joe
Jones
Aug 17, 1933 — Dec 13, 2018
Cabot
Billy Joe Jones quietly passed from this life on December 13, 2018 in Des Arc, Arkansas at the age of 85.
Bill is survived by his wife, Nadey of Cabot; his daughter Nadey Jo (Shane) Dunn of Jacksonville, Arkansas; his daughter-in-law Janet Jones of Cabot; two grandchildren Holly and Nicholas Jones of Cabot; sisters Elsie Easley of Newport, Arkansas, Betty (Jimmy) Cansler of McCrory and Lois (Dave) Scholl of Anchorage, Alaska as well as a brother Charlie (Leah) Carter of Beebe, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his son Loyd Jones of Cabot and his granddaughter Tressie Jo Dunn of Jacksonville.
Bill was born on August 17, 1933 in Newport, Arkansas. His parents were Delphia and Oscar Carter of Tupelo, Arkansas and Deacon and Annie Jones of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
After a blind date set up by her sister, Bill married Nadey 51 years ago. They made their family home in Cabot after relocating from Brinkley in 1972. Bill worked for Terminix for nearly 45 years and became very well known around town for his truck with the big bug on the top. His daughter remembers him as a quiet man who encouraged her to work hard and always taught her the importance of having a strong work ethic.
Bill enjoyed travelling with his wife. They were always going on trips together whether it was just the two of them or with a group of friends. He loved to listen to good old gospel music, relished a good game of dominoes or UNO, dabbled in woodworking, and never met a piece of junk that he didn't think he could do something with. He had a long, adventurous life and it's now time for him to rest peacefully.
The family would like to thank Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation for their love, care, and support over the past 3 years. If you find yourself with an extra 15 minutes to spare, stop by a nursing home and make a new old friend. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service, 501-941-7888.
