Obituary

Doyle Eugene Guess, Jr. "Gene", of Austin, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008. He was born November 10, 1953 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Juanita Guess Barger and the late Doyle Eugene Guess, Sr.

Gene graduated from Cabot High School in 1972 then began his career as a drywall installer for over 30 years, doing hi apprenticeship with Horton Drywall and working for many years with Platinum Drywall in Maumelle. He was a member of Mt. Springs Baptist Church in Cabot. Gene was a great lover of animals and the outdoors and loved spending his time enjoying the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, skiing, boating or just enjoying being outside. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and his "trail of angels" his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Doyle Guess, Sr.; three uncles: Paul Guess, Lewis Guess and Jefferson Davis Guess, Jr.; two grandchildren: Devon Harrell and Lisa Marie Tidwell; grandparents: Sawyers & Charity Mills, Jefferson Davis, Sr. & Elizabeth Guess and William & Bertha Dean.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lee Isbell Guess of Austin; six children: Shannon & Greg Jones of Cabot, Jennifer & Greg Wortham of Rose Bud, Mylinda & Terry Colbert of Austin; Toni & Ron Horner of Furlow, Judy & Terry Tidwell of Alexander and Dennis & Trisha Oakes of Pell City, Alabama; mother, Juanita Guess Barger of Cabot; one sister, Sherry Ann & Stas' Kwiatkowski of Garfield, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held 1:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Mt. Springs Baptist Church with Bro. J. Roland Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Springs Cemetery in Cabot.
