Drexel Pierson was born May 14, 1940, to Autis and Anna Pierson. Drexel left this life into the arms of the Lord on September 15, 2012, at the age of 72. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Cabot for 39 years.

Drexel was born and raised on a dairy farm. He loved working with his father and mother. He was always a hard worker. Drexel graduated from Violet High School, furthered his education at Arkansas State at Beebe and went on to finish at Arkansas State in Jonesboro. Drexel had a teaching job as soon as he finished college at Strawberry, Arkansas. He later taught Agriculture at Cabot in 1964 and 1965. At that time, Drexel changed careers and went to work for the Department of Agriculture for the Government. He and wife Freda spent 4 ½ years in Michigan, until he received a transfer back to Arkansas. He was county supervisor at Yellville, Forrest City, Batesville, Hampton and Lonoke, Arkansas, before taking a position in the State Office and retired with almost 30 years of service. Drexel loved people and doing what he could for them.

Preceding Drexel in death were his parents; two brothers, C.C. and Vaughn Pierson and loving son, David Pierson. Surviving him is his loving wife of 49 years, Freda; a wonderful daughter, Patty Pierson; two fantastic grandsons, Keith (Ashley) Pierson and Kyle Pierson (fiancée Amber Davis) of Searcy; loving mother-in-law Myrtle Broyles; one sister, Barbara (Carl) Gillihan; one brother, Williard (Inez) Pierson; sister-in-laws, Beth Pierson and Leta Engle; one brother-in-law, Douglas Engle and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be September 19. 2012, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, with the serve at 2:00 pm, at the 1st Baptist Church of Cabot with Brother Dick Avey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel cemetery under the direction of Thomas Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Bill Swafford, John Byers, Larry Rogers, Tom Bush, Richard Robinson and Roy Paul. Honorary Pallbearers will be Herman Oliger and Wayne Fuson.
