Edward Sims, Sr., 72, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024.  He was born December 27, 1951 in Des Arc to the late Richard and Mildred Smith Sims.  Mr. Sims spent twenty-one years in service to his community as a police officer for the Cabot Police Department before his retirement.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Nancy Sims; son, Edward Sims, Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor and Kallie Sims; brothers, Richard Sims, Jr. and Jim Sims, as well as many friends.
