Evelyn Carol Milner Mayfield, 64 of Cabot, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 5, 2011 at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, with her daughters at her side. She was born on February 24, 1947 in Ward, Arkansas to the late Edward and Lillie McCain Milner, she was number 10 out of 19 children. Evelyn was retired from Maybelline after working 21 years. If you new Evelyn well you always waited to hear her reply that she was doing "Simply Lovely", no matter what.
She is survived by two daughters, Jenny (Terry) Craig of Searcy and Sheila (Paul Buchanan) McIllwain of the home, seven grandchildren, Joline , J.J. , Jacqueline Staley all of Austin, Trent and Hope McIllwain of the home, and Cylanne Beth and Leah Craig of Searcy. Also 12 sisters Dorothy(Herman) Smith, Irene Ballard, Joyce Ball, Louise Milos, Margie Davie, Elsie Bivens all of Arkansas, Martha (William) Mojica, Shirley Bryson, Doris Johnson and Ellen Nuerhing all of Texas, Edlene Laird of Idaho, and Linda Wharton of Florida, 2 brothers, James Milner of Arkansas and Gary Milner of Missouri, many nieces and nephews. She was also known as "Memaw" to many other people that she adopted along the way. Other special people include, Casey Horn, Jodi Cook, Tammy Drake, D.J. and Kelly Babcock, Dillon Buchanan, Tim and Monica Bunting, Grandma Bea, Don Griffin and Dave Barker.
She was the Girl Scout Troop 6166's cookie memaw, she loved cookie time, she would deliver them to wherever they were needed.
Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2011 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Thomas Funeral Service, Cabot with Funeral Service being held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10 A.M. at Country Chapel with Brother Steve Zumalt and Brother Paul Luman officiating. Burial following in Butlerville Cemetery in the Butlerville community. Funeral arrangements are by Rhodes and Son funeral Home, Augusta and Thomas Funeral Services, Cabot.
