Fred Martin Bowers, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 20, 2015 in Jacksonville. He was born October 4, 1946 in Emporia, Kansas to Jerald and Jody Moss Bowers.

He loved spending time with family and friends, golfing and boating. He was an active member of Open Arms Assembly of God in Beebe, Arkansas. He enjoyed Sunday morning breakfast and other activities with the Prime Timers. Fred always took pride in appearance and was known as the best dressed at every occasion. While in Costa Rica he loved spending his time working with Ministries and was always willing to help his friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father Jerald and wife JoAnn Bowers.

He is survived by his son Eric Bowers and Amanda Green of Sheridan, Arkansas; daughter Jody Peterson of Olathe, Kansas; mother Jody Corey of Jacksonville, Arkansas; sister Vicki Herrick (Gary) of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren Stephanie Peterson, Zachary Peterson, Hunter Peterson, Alyssa Bowers and Anna Grace Green; mother of his children Shirley Zumbrunn and a host of other friends and family.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday 23, 2015 at Open Arms Assembly of God in Beebe, Arkansas. Funeral service to follow, Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Relay for Life of North Pulaski County.
