Fred O Lawrence, 84, of Cabot passed away Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born January 11, 1933, in Appleton, AR to the late Lester and Mae Stroud Lawrence. He is preceded in death by his stepmom, Myrtie Sexton Lawrence; brothers, Kermit, James (Louise) and Norman Lawrence; sisters, Inez Copeland (Johnny), Carrie Wheeler (Claude); and brother-in-law, AJ Shipley.
Fred was an honest, hard-working, loving, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. All who knew him remember his powerful voice that he used for the Lord as he sang in a gospel quartet for over 40 years, the reverence when he prayed, his strong handshake, and his infectious smile. He is truly a man changed by Jesus Christ, living humbly an in service to others. His legacy will forever live through his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Lawrence; daughters, Melinda L Thompson (Doug) and Debbie Guttenfelder (Glen); four sisters, Leta (Lindsey) Wise , Marilyn Shipley, Wanda (Richard) Simpson, Pat Copeland; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Virginia Lawrence; six grandchildren, Brooke Meier (Josh), Garrett Thompson, Glendan Guttenfelder (Monica), Brandon Guttenfelder (Tracie), Tyson Guttenfelder (Kiley), and Kirsten Weaver (Doug); 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their special thanks to Lakewood Nursing and Rehab for the many months of loving care.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 163 Mount Carmel Road, Cabot, AR 72203. There will be a visitation at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service at Mt. Carmel. Graveside service to follow at Sikeston Garden of Memories, 1001 W Murray Lane, Sikeston, MO 63801 at 4:00 p.m.
