James Dennis Lonergan, age 51, of Ward, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009. He was born August 9, 1957 in Springfield, Illinois to Daniel & Joan Lonergan.

Serving the U.S. Air force during Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm receiving numerous medals and awards, retiring after 18 years of service.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Brenda of Ward; two children, Brandon Brewer of Ward and Amanda Epley of Ward; his parents Daniel P. "Boone" Lonergan & Joan M. Lonergan of Chatham, Illinois; one brother, Paul E. Lonergan (Renee) of Chatham, Illinois; two sisters, Jean A. White of Chatham, Illinois and Carol L. McGuire (Robert) of Springfield, Illinois; four grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.

A time of visitation is scheduled for 4:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, March 16, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Chapel in Cabot. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
