Kazimiera (Kazia) "K" Semer, age 96 of Cabot, passed away September 26. 2011 in Cabot, Arkansas from natural causes. She was born in Poland on September 11, 1915. She emigrated to Gary, Indiana in 1950, retired from Federal Mogul, Anderson Company ( ANCO) in 1985 and lived in Merrillville, Indian, until moving to Cabot in 2006. She is predeceased by husband John in 1961, a son Zbigniew (Bob) Lakomski in August of the past year.
Kazia is survived by daughter Irene (B.L.) Ernst of Cabot, two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
Kazia leaves behind a legacy of strength, stubbornness and sheer will. She was a survivor who battled blindness, dementia and Alzheimer's in her later years with a sense of humor and gratitude to God and this country for all that she had. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Jacksonville, AR. While in Indiana, she worshipped at Salvatorian Fathers and St. Hedwig Parish in Gary. Kazia was a true animal lover who cared for all God's creatures.
Memorial donations in her name can be made to a local Hospice Association or Humane Society. The family extends their deepest appreciation to all who cared for Kazia while she was a resident of Spring Creek Living Center and to the caring souls of Arkansas Hospice.
