Marjorie Byrum of Fort Smith passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 in Cabot at the age of 95.

She was married to Leo Spencer Byrum. They shared the same birthday on June 27 and were married on their shared birthday in 1937. She was only 16 and he was 22. They would have been married 61 years when he passed away in 1998.

Marjorie and Leo worked side by side from 1942 to 1971 in the golf business where she ran the pro shop where he was golf pro at various courses in Durant, Oklahoma, Van Buren and Fort Smith, Arkansas. They later owned and operated a number of drive-in diners in the Fort Smith area.

After retiring, she worked in the ladies' ready-to-wear business for another seventeen years.

Marjorie volunteered at RSVP in Fort Smith, AARP, Cancer Support House in Fort Smith and The Foundation Department at UAFS. She was a member of Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren for 80 years, a Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi and a past member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
