Obituary

Mildred Kathleen Stephenson, 76, of Cabot, AR, was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2025.  Kathy was born January 8, 1949, and later adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Andis, Jr. of Nederland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Andis; parents-in-law, Patricia and James A. Stephenson; brother-in-law, James Barry Stephenson and sister-in-law, Erin Jones.

Kathy is survived by her husband of fifty years, Craig Stephenson; her daughters, Christine Boling (Ryan), Kimberly Neil (Jim) and Leighann Heling (Paul); sister, Sally Carter (Leslie); eight grandchildren, Britni (Kyle), Aaron, Claire (Carson), Taylor (Brittany), Kylie, Sam, Anna, and Natalie and two great-grandsons, Franklin and Channing.

Kathy found so much joy in her gardens through the years. She adored working in her flowerbeds and smelling the flowers. Every room in her home had some type of floral arrangement. Kathy took great pride in cooking for her family when they were young and later when everyone came home for holidays. She willingly shared her recipes with anyone who asked, though her daughters never found a way to make her famous fudge. Kathy enjoyed taking care of others and that is reflected in her work history that included nurse's aide in Texas as well as jobs at The Eudora Bank, her Sears Catalogue store, and Stephenson Feed, Seed & Tack. Kathy had fun substitute teaching at Ross Van Ness in Eudora, and Lakeside School District in Lake Village. For eight years Kathy was beloved by many little children who came to her in-home daycare in Monticello. Kathy was proud to help care for any family that needed her. Most of all, Kathy was a cowgirl. She loved living in the country, being around animals and going fishing. Kathy leaves behind three precious dogs Katie, Abby & Lucy.

The family would like to thank the entire team of healthcare workers at St. Vincent's Infirmary for excellent care, and special love to Mark and the respiratory team who worked with exemplary love and compassion.

There will be a small memorial service for the family at home on Thursday, August 28, from 3p-5p at 74 Hickory Bend Drive, Cabot, AR  72023. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service, 501-941-7888.
