Milford "M.R." Raymond Smith, 79, of Ward, AR returned to his heavenly home on June 18, 2016. His beloved dog L.T. at his side.
M.R. was born in Oneida, TN to Mildred and Clifford Smith on April 28, 1937 who also precede him in death.

M.R. is survived by his Brother William "Bill" Smith of Maryville, TN; daughter Rayna Thompson and husband Hoyt Thompson; two grandchildren Erica Lacy and fiance Andy Stoll and Ashley Lacy; and great-grandchildren Andrew Treadway, Lacy Treadway and Sawyer Stoll. M.R. will be remembered with love by Jackie and Angel Lacy.

M.R. spent his final years with close friends and family. He had a passion for reading and a fiery love for chess. He never met an animal he didn't care for. We can only hope that his love for books, his creative genius and passion for learning will be carried on by his grandchildren and passed on as a living legacy.

Graveside service with military honors will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood.
