Murel Dean Emerson, 81, of Cabot, passed away January 22, 2021. He was born January 7, 1940 in Rupert, Arkansas to the late Glen and Ruby Emerson. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping, gardening and fishing. In addition to his parents, Murel was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Emerson; twin brother, Dan Emerson and brothers, Aubrey, Kenneth, Paul, Carlos, Tommy and Steve Emerson.

He is survived by his sons, Tony and Richard Emerson; grandson, Max Emerson; siblings, Glenda Tumbleson, Jane Brock, and Grady Emerson; friends, Kathy, Elane, Traci and Teresa, who brightened his days and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery Church building in Rupert, Arkansas with Pastor Ben Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Service, (501) 941-7888.
