Obituary

Norma Horness, age 84, of Cabot went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday May 22, 2015. She was born in Cabot, Arkansas to the late Ivy Emerson Patton and Viona Elizabeth Cole Patton.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. At present time she was the oldest and longest member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Norma was the Salutatorian of her high school class of 1949. She was also quite a cook, at Thanksgiving and Christmas she cooked it all with some help from her son Gary. They would begin cooking at 4:30 a.m. in the morning and her dressing was liked by everyone. She also loved cooking and working at the nursing home. Norma loved everyone and told them often. If she met you, you were never forgotten. One of her enjoyments was spending Saturdays with Carol and hitting every store. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Don Bevis; one sister Louise Housley and two infant brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Bevis of Cabot ; one son Gary (JoBeth) Horness of Gravel Ridge; and their father Carlos Horness; one sister Marjorie McMahan and two brothers Charles (Betty) Patton and Clifford (Susie) Patton all of Cabot; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service with be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 26, 2015 At Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday May 25, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Chapel.
