Ralph Emmett King, 85, of Austin, went peacefully home to the love of his life while holding hands with his only daughter on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.  He was born July 17, 1937 in Cabot to the late George and LeeElla Barham King.  Ralph married Macile McCollum and they continued their married life for sixty plus years.  He became a fireman at the North Little Rock Levi Station early in his career and worked through the ranks retiring as a captain.  He grew up loving sports and especially the Cabot Panthers football team.  On or off the job, Ralph was always there to help those in need.  He loved to tell a good story, enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed horseracing and football.  Ralph loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He had a tight circle of friends, but he never passed a person in need without helping.  Later in his life, Ralph met new friends at Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation where all of them spent time together and developed friendships that lasted the rest of his lifetime.  He will be missed by family and friends.  Although he is gone, the legacy of Ralph King will not be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maria King; sons, Matt and Mark King and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and family.
