Obituary

Richard Paul Ypya, 76, passed away December 23, 2020 in Austin, Arkansas. He was born January 16, 1944 in Ipswich, Massachusetts to parents, Jonas and Esther Ypya. Richard loved and was loved by his family.  He loved to travel and go on adventures with his wife, Janet.  They went on many cruises and trips together and enjoyed spending time with the family at the local dinner theater and taking them on trips to Disney World.  Richard liked to fish and loved spending time collecting and dealing coins with his son, Kevin. He enjoyed selling at local flea markets and auctions.  One of the joys of his life were his grandchildren, Joshua, Lindsey, Kyle, Eli, Caleb, Zach and Hayden as well as his great grandsons, Jaxon and Elliot. Richard was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served our country for over twenty years. He will continue to be loved and missed by family and friends alike.  In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; brother, Tim and stepsons, Derek and Travis.

Richard is survived by his sister, Marion; sons, Barry (Jennifer) Ypya and Kevin (Kris) Ypya; nephew, Tim Junior; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services for Richard will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service, 501-941-7888.
