Master Sergeant Robert Carl Stout United States Air Force Retired, 70, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Lonoke, Arkansas.  He was born May 8, 1947 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to the late Leonard and Helen Stout.

Robert attended grammar school in Harrison, Arkansas.  At the age of 14, he left his mother's home and moved to his elderly aunt and uncle's farm where he lived and worked while attending Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He enlisted in the United Stated Air Force in June of 1966 and after assignments in Guam and Thailand was discharged at Frasier Airbase in California in 1970.  He re-enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971.  Three months later, he was assigned to Thailand again where he first met his future wife Buagaeo Kitigun.  Robert returned to the states for a thirteen month assignment at Ellsworth, South Dakota, which included three months with Boeing Company.  The next assignment placed him again in Thailand for the third time where he reunited with Miss Kitigun.  By the end of this two year assignment, they married and had their first daughter, Brenda Marie.  It was during their seven year stay at Kadena Airbase in Okinawa, Japan that they had their second daughter, Theresa.  The Stout family returned to the United States and after another three years of service at Little Rock Air Force Base, Robert retired. Robert retired from the United States Air Force in December 1987 with honors as an E7.  He served his country for more than twenty years, including four tours of duty in the Vietnam War.

He received numerous decorations, medals and awards during his time in service to his country.  Some of which include:  Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with Three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Combat V Device with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, and others.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister Grace Marie Cossey of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He is survived by his devoted wife of forty years, Buagaeo Stout; his daughters, Theresa Stout and Brenda Marie Spence (Tommy); five grandchildren, Christopher Robert Quarry, Mia Siam Griffin, Thomas Wayne Spence, Demi Marie Spence, and Jerry Dean Spence, all of whom reside in Cabot, Arkansas.
