Thomas "Tommy" Oliver Yates, Sr., 68, of Cabot, peacefully left this earth and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born April 14, 1950 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to the late James Merle and Polly Ann Anderson Yates. He attended Midway School and graduated from Cabot High School. After his time in the service, he worked at Vertac and installed fire protection sprinkler systems as a pipefitter. Tommy was an avid hunter, loved gardening, woodworking and horses but nothing was more precious to him then spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Oliver Yates, Jr.; his brother, Richard A. Yates and his sister, Janet A. Strickland Yates.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cindy Yates of Cabot; his two daughters, Jennifer O. Yates and Amanda Yates of North Little Rock; his son, Cody (Courtney) Yates of Hinesville, Georgia; his step-daughters, Monica (Richard) Ray-Carter of Lonoke, Melanie (Jose) Sanchez of Cabot, Michele (Jon) Blum of Cabot, eleven grandchildren and one on the way.
