Obituary

Walter (Jim) James Walker, age 72, of Cabot, went home to be with the Lord, October 1, 2009, following a lengthy battle with dementia. He was born June 12, 1937 in Fitzpatrick, Alabama the son of the late Lawrence Jessie & Maggie Lee Walker. Jim retired as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed carpentry, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends. He had a contagious sense of humor and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed and always in our thoughts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, their daughter Rebecca Wagner and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Morgan Wagner of Cabot, as well as many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot with Bro. Don Moseley officiating.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cabot Nursing and Rehab and Odyssey Hospice Care for the dedication and service they so lovingly extended to our loved one. A very special thanks, also to our dedicated friends Bruce and Carla Stockbridge for always being there to offer help and support.

Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot (501) 941-7888.
