Walter Carson "Jr" Whitley Jr. age 65 of Ward went to be with the Lord Friday April 17, 2015. He was born in Batesville, Mississippi to Walter Carson Whitley Sr. and Estelle Sanders Whitley. Walter married the love of his life, Kathy, on September 24, 1967. He was a loving and caring husband, son, father and grandfather. Jr loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and Kathy loved going to the flea markets and fishing. He retired from a career in construction. Jr. will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother Ronnie Whitley.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of Ward; four children Sandra (Chris) Bailey of Cabot; Chuck Whitley of Waterproof, Louisiana; Kevin Whitley of Cabot; Sarah Whitley of Ward; five grandchildren Tyler, Robert, David, Carson Whitley and Emily Grubbs; mother Estelle Whitley of Edwards, Mississippi; four brothers Billy, Jimmy, Bobby, Don Whitley all of Mississippi; two sisters Barbara Barnett and Patricia Thornton of Mississippi and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 19, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Chapel; visitation will be held two hours prior. In lieu of flowers donations made to the American Cancer Society1- 800-227-2345 or the American Diabetes Foundation. 1-800-342-2383
